Description
Day 1: Fes – Midelt
Morning departure by 4×4 from the imperial city of Fes to the Middle Atlas Mountains. Trek on foot for an hour in a beautiful cedar forest near Ifran and Imouzar. Cross the cedar forests with century-old trees and enjoy watching Barbary macaques of Gibraltar and continue to the village of Midelt. In the afternoon, enjoy a trip to the nature preserve near Jaafer circus. Continue to your guesthouse for a traditional Moroccan dinner and the night.
Day 2: Midelt – Merzouga
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, depart to Merzouga via the villages of Er Rachidia and Erfoud through Tizi Ntalghomt and the Ziz Valley. Stop for lunch in Er Rachidia. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon and meet your cameleers, who will guide you to your desert camp for sunset over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Traditional nomad dinner and night under the stars or in nomad tents.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge
After a traditional nomad breakfast, depart for the Todra Gorge crossing the vast palm oasis of Tafilalet with many ksours. Continue to Erfoud, the date capital of southern Moroccan. Experience landscapes alternating between huge desert plateaus and oasis, such as those of Goulmima. After passing through Tinghir, trek by foot in the valley of Todra Gorge. Arrive at your guesthouse for a traditional Moroccan dinner and the night.
Day 4: Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, hike the magnificent palm grove of Tinghir, which stretches 30 miles (48 km). Visit the traditional adobe architecture of the ancient Jewish quarter of Tinghir. Reach the canyons of the Dades Gorge, also called Valley of the Roses, and the stunning scenery of the area. Arrive in late afternoon to your guesthouse in Dades Gorge for a traditional Moroccan dinner and the night.
Day 5: Dades Gorge – N’Kob
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, leave the Dades Valley, and depart for a walking trek along the river. Beautiful and authentic kasbahs abound in this landscape. Continue to the mountain pass of Tizi -n-Tazazert with a magnificent view of the black mountains of Massif Saghro. Descend to the site of Bab Ali and leading to the village of N’Kob and its beautiful palm oasis. Traditional Moroccan dinner and night in your hotel.
Day 6: N’Kob – M’Hamid el Ghizlane
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, depart for Zagora and its immense palm oasis in the Draa Valley to reach M’Hamid early in the afternoon. Take a walk through the last palm oasis of the Draa Valley. Arrive at the bivouac near the village of M’Hamid in time for sunset over the high dunes. Traditional nomad dinner and night under the stars or in nomad tents.
Day 7: M’Hamid el Ghizlane – Erg Chigaga
After watching the sun rise and a traditional nomad breakfast, depart early morning to the big dunes of Erg Chigaga. Take a picnic lunch in the desert then continue to Erg Chigaga to arrive e in the late afternoon. Take a walk on foot or by camel in the dunes. Installation in your tent at the bivouac before attending the sunset on the dunes. Traditional nomad dinner and night under the stars or in nomad tents.
Day 8: Erg Chigaga – Tata
After sunrise over the dunes and a traditional nomad breakfast, depart for the small oasis village of Tata along the track between Erg Chigaga and the old riverbed of the Draa River to Lake Iriqui, then to the village of Foum Zguid for lunch. Continue to Tissint and on to your guesthouse in Tata in late afternoon for a traditional dinner and the night.
Day 9: Tata – Tafraoute
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, depart to Tafraoute, a Berber village in the heart of the mountains of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Enjoy a visit to the prehistoric rock engravings at Oured Mestakou near Tata. `Cross the valley of Ait Mensour adorned with a beautiful palm oasis, stop for lunch on the way and then through small refreshing rivers and traditional kasbahs. Arrive in Tafraoute in time to enjoy the sunset over the hills of the Atlas Mountains followed by a traditional dinner and the night.
Day 10: Tafraoute – Massa
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, depart Massa Enjoy and enjoy a hike through the national park of Massa. Stop for lunch in Tiznit, known for fabrication of silver Berber jewelry. Continue to your guesthouse and relax before a traditional Moroccan dinner and the night.
Day 11: Massa – Essaouira
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, depart to the coastal town of Essaouira (Old Mogador). and continue on the seaside road to Essaouira via Agadir. Essaouira is perhaps one of the most enchanting of Morocco, with its white washed walls, fishing port and long endless beach. Enjoy the perfect place to relax before a traditional Moroccan dinner and night in Essaouira.
Day 12: Essaouira – Marrakech
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, trek by foot to discover Essaouira, the pearl of the Atlantic. You will discover a mix of cultures that reflects the rich history of this beautiful city. Stroll through the former Portuguese port, souks, medina, beautiful beach and feast on delicious grilled fish, fresh from the sea. This will be an unforgettable part of your trip to Morocco. After lunch, depart to Marrakech for a late afternoon arrival.
